SAP Business One for Asia Pacific Japan Head Justine Ho kicked off the proceedings with an enlightening keynote that highlighted SAP Business One as a cornerstone for businesses aiming to stay ahead in a rapidly changing market. His remarks focused on the system’s versatility and scalability, Business Intelligence tools making it an ideal ERP solution for businesses of all industries and sizes looking to future-proof their operations.

Further deepening the discussion, EY Partner Shanaka De Silva delivered speech on unlocking business potential through successful ERP implementation. His presentation provided actionable insights into navigating the complex landscape of digital transformation, underscoring the importance of strategic planning and execution.

The session continued with Lanka Hospitals PLC Group Chief Executive Officer Deepthi Lokuarachchi, who emphasised the need for innovative ERP solutions in the healthcare sector to streamline operations. He highlighted that Lanka Hospitals operates in a uniquely complex business environment, where multiple systems previously operated in isolation. By implementing the right ERP solution, they were able to integrate and centralise all their systems with minimal customisations. This strategic move not only brought all operations onto a single platform but also centralised data, significantly reducing manual processes. The impact was particularly evident in their financial reporting processes, which saw marked improvements in efficiency and accuracy.

His address was followed by Founder / Group MD Dr. Madura Gamanayake’s detailed presentation on SAP Business One’s web client capabilities, showcasing how it empowers businesses owners on the visibility of overall business performance with real-time data access, approvals on-the-go, enhanced user experience and most importantly, planning.

Huawei’s Senior Solutions Architect Indika Dias also contributed to the dialogue, focusing on the synergy between hardware and software solutions in driving digital transformation. His insights on Huawei’s role in supporting ERP solutions added a valuable technological perspective to the event.

Group CEO Anjana Wijesinghe delivered a compelling presentation on how to ensure successful project implementation. She outlined seven practical tips, emphasising that a forward-thinking, intuitive ERP solution is key to optimising project outcomes. Wijesinghe highlighted the importance of data transparency, accurate and convenient planning, and the ability to foresee and navigate potential challenges—elements critical for achieving optimal results in any project.

The event culminated in a lively panel discussion, moderated by SAP Business One Channel Sales Manager Pallavi Lakhanpal. The panel featured distinguished experts, including University of Sri Jayawardenepura Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce Dr. Dushan Jayawickrama, Geological Survey and Mines Bureau Chairman Dr. Kithsiri Manchanayake, and Sunshine Holdings Director and Sunshine Group Chief Financial Officer Aruna Deepthi Kumara. The dialogue provided a multi-faceted view on the importance of ERP in maintaining a competitive edge within Sri Lanka’s economic landscape.
