PwC’s Academy, Singapore Polytechnic to conduct 2-day certificate course in AI and machine learning

Both AI and machine learning have been recognised as important technological trends that are here to stay, in the backdrop of these technologies setting an important precedent in helping empower employees of a multitude of enterprises to add more value to their existing enterprises by increasingly empowering the automation of a number of procedures, from billing to budgeting and even general accounting to automating procurement and logistical processes and even customer care.

Meanwhile, a PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Global consumer intelligence survey found out that 72% of executives believe that AI will be the business advantage of the future, while 54% executives said that AI solutions implemented in their business have already helped increase productivity, which has reaffirmed that AI and machine learning are part of the solution, whether or not users perceive it.  

To help future-oriented corporate executives stay abreast of the latest and fastest growing technological trends, PwC’s Academy Sri Lanka has partnered with leading educational institute Singapore Polytechnic to conduct a two day certificate course on the introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning in Colombo in March 2019. 

With AI and machine learning becoming the fastest growing technologies in recent years, the certificate course which will be held on 14 and 15 March, is ideal for professionals with a futuristic and future oriented mindset, and who understand the need to change and adapt with time, in the midst of increasing demands for companies to become smarter and more technological savvy. 

The course will be conducted by Dr. Peter Leong, a Senior Lecturer at Singapore Polytechnic, who is also an experienced technopreneur who has led the successful transformation of several companies and government agencies in leveraging ICT technologies. The two-day certificate course is ideal for professionals from all industries who wish to make strategic decisions about where and how to employ AI and machine learning. 

The introductory course will help participants gain a better understanding on what AI and machine learning is by introducing them to the fundamentals of these two technologies, and also help them understand how they can apply the most affective techniques of AI and machine learning to enhance their day-to-day work operations as well as the business as a whole. 

During the course, the resource person will draw on real-world practical examples and case studies, while helping the participants learn how to define the task of interest, match tasks to AI and machine learning tools and assess the quality of the output and thereby make maximum use of these technologies. Participants will also be given an opportunity to set up and use simple AI and machine learning tools by working on a hands-on project.
