SLT, Virtusa partner to raise customer experience through digital initiatives

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), the national ICT and digital solutions provider, entered into a landmark agreement with Virtusa Ltd., a global provider of digital strategy, digital engineering, and IT outsourcing services, heralding a radical transformation in customer experience for SLT’s valued customers in the coming weeks and months. 

The signing of this memorandum of understanding (MoU) marks yet another critical milestone in realising SLT’s digital transformation. Through this MOU company seeks to provide superior, world-class digital services to the public, radically transforming people’s lifestyles for the better, through digitalisation and the effective use of ICTs.

Under the MoU, SLT and Virtusa will work together on various digital initiatives that will transform customer experience and revamp service offerings whilst also optimising costs for the company, improving efficiencies, and automating backend services. 

The digital initiatives that are expected to bring about these enhancements focus on improvements to SLT Self Care App, web portal, omni-channel access by customers as well as enhancements to the SLT Contact Centre that will support the company to serve its customers on a totally different level altogether in the near future.

The signing of this MoU comes in the wake of the company expediting its digital transformation journey in the recent past to deliver superior digital experiences to customers that will support the company to achieve its vision of becoming the country’s preferred digital lifestyle partner by the year 2022. This is in line with the digital transformation of Sri Lanka, that is set to transform the island to be the Digital Hub of South Asia by 2025.

Giving his views on the partnership, SLT Chief Executive Officer Kiththi Perera gave his comments saying, “With SLT’s Vision 2022, we are geared and ready to lead the nation of Sri Lanka into a new digital era that will totally transform lives for the better. In our goal towards bringing about a digitally transformed nation, we continue to partner with key organisations that possess the expertise that we can leverage on. All of these establishments will have a significant impact on Sri Lanka’s economy and help our nation achieve great strides in its journey of becoming the digital hub in the region and bring about long term sustainable growth for Sri Lanka’s ICT industry.

The MoU between the two companies was signed recently at Sri Lanka Telecom premises by authorised signatories SLT Chief Executive Officer Kiththi Perera and Virtusa Vice President Client Services Sumudu Gunawardhana.
