Samsung, Sri Lanka’s number one smartphone brand, recently announced that it has enabled all Samsung Galaxy S21 series including the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra users with the capability of using their 5G compatible devices on the 5G trial network of Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka’s premier connectivity provider, to experience the power of 5G.

Samsung Galaxy 5G devices take connectivity to the next level. 4G has delivered data to Samsung mobile devices for years. 5G takes that connectivity to unprecedented heights, enabling a world of previously impossible experiences. With more than a decade perfecting our end-to-end 5G vision – from optimised 5G chips to vast-reaching 5G networks – no one delivers the promise of hyperfast 5G speeds better than Samsung.

“We are delighted to give the opportunity for Samsung customers in Sri Lanka to experience the limitless capabilities of 5G network through our devices with Dialog. Samsung is at the forefront of launching 5G devices in Sri Lanka and we cater to all the requirements of our consumers in the country,” stated Samsung Sri Lanka Managing Director Kevin SungSu YOU.

“In the future, everything is going to be transformed by 5G. Samsung has introduced 5G ready devices to Sri Lanka since 2020 and will continue introducing the latest 5G smartphone and Tablets to all Sri Lankans with a range of affordable choices.”

Commenting, Dialog Axiata Group Chief Operating Officer Lasantha Theverapperuma said: “We are thankful to Samsung for enabling all Galaxy S21 series users with the capabilities to experience the power of 5G on Dialog’s 5G trial network. This is just a peek at the exciting future that Dialog will enable for our customers with Dialog 5G.”

Implementing 5G will mean faster speeds for end consumers, as well as limitless opportunities to automate industrial and home environments. Dialog’s 5G trial network follows previous 5G milestones by the company including, demonstration of a fully standards-based 5G mobile service for the first time in South Asia, the first 5G showcase in South Asia, the demonstration of South Asia’s fastest 5G mobile speeds in 2019, and the first standards-based 5G fixed-wireless pilot transmission in December 2018.

Samsung’s new partnerships with top brands and companies make its 5G experience more exciting than anywhere else, from crystal clear video chatting with Google Duo to virtually lag-free gaming whenever, wherever the consumer wants. As one the world’s most experienced and fastest 5G device manufacturers, Samsung will pave the way for a continuous enhancement of everyday 5G experience.

While most smartphone makers only offer a single 5G device, Samsung makes just as many kinds of hyperfast 5G devices as the people who use them – from top-of-the-line smartphones for creatives to streamlined devices for the cost-conscious to 5G tablets for the powerfully productive.

Dialog extended an open invitation to its valued customers to explore the unique capabilities of 5G technology at 75 site locations island-wide, including Galle Face Area, Kollupitiya, Rajagiriya, Peliyagoda, Rathmalana, Kandy, and more. Customers can visit www.dialog.lk/5g to stay updated as Dialog expands its 5G trial network into more areas.

When a user is in range of one of these 75 site locations, they will be automatically connected to Dialog’s 5G trial network. Samsung S21 series customers simply need to update their devices to the latest software in the ‘Software Update’ tab in ‘Settings’ to be able to connect to Dialog 5G trial network.
