Sri Lanka CERT|CC conducts ‘Hacking Challenge’ and ‘Information Security Quiz 2017’

01For the 10th consecutive year a ‘Hacking Challenge’ and an ‘Information Security Quiz’ were conducted by Sri Lanka CERT|CC as part of the Cyber Security Week 2017 activities. 

The event was held at Lavender Room BMICH on 11 and 18 August. 

The winners of the hacking Challenge was Team Hawk Security (Dhananja Kariyawasam, Samith Madhushanka, Bawantha Chandula). 

The winners of the Information Security Quiz was Team Synack (Malith Senaweera Dehiwalage, Jude Nilushan Costa, Wickramaranga Abeygunawardhana) from University of Colombo School of Computing. 

Sri Lanka CERT|CC was established in 2006 as Sri Lanka’s National CERT, by the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA). It is a fully-owned subsidiary of ICTA and currently under the Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure. 

As part of the Cyber Security Week program Sri Lanka CERT|CC will conduct the 10th Annual National Conference on Cyber Security on 30 August at Colombo Hilton and supporting Workshops on Advanced Web Application Security, Incident Response and Internet Security and Ethical Hacking and Forensic Computing on 28, 29 and 30 August at SLIDA’s Distance Learning Centre (DLC).
