The Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2023, held in Hong Kong, witnessed a remarkable showcase of talent from across the region. Among the distinguished winners were nominees from Sri Lanka, selected through the National ICT Awards (NBQSA) 2023 organised by BCS Sri Lanka Section and the Young Computer Scientist (YCS) competition conducted by FITIS.
BCS Sri Lanka Section Chairman Alanzo Doll expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the winners, stating, “The success of our nominees at APICTA 2023 is a testament to the exceptional capabilities and innovative spirit of the Sri Lankan tech community. We are proud to see their accomplishments recognised on the international stage.”
BCS Sri Lanka Section Secretary Sanjeeva Perera echoed this sentiment, saying, “The achievements of our nominees underline the commitment to excellence in ICT education and projects in Sri Lanka. It is a moment of pride for our nation, and we extend our warmest congratulations to all the winners.”
APICTA Awards competition has only 2 levels of recognitions for the winners namely, “Winner” and “Merit” awards where “Merit” recognition is awarded to a nominee that receives marks more than 95% of that category “Winner”.
Following six Sri Lankan nominees won awards including the highest category level “Winner” award at APICTA Awards 2023. They are as follows:

The APICTA 2023 competition featured participation from over 17 countries, with 24 competition categories judged by a panel of 70+ experts representing member economies. These awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements in the field of information and communication technology across the Asia Pacific region. Sri Lanka’s success at APICTA 2023 reaffirms country’s position as a hub for ICT innovation and technological excellence.
