Sri Lankans win 3 awards at ISACA Global Awards

ISACA which is the worldwide association for Assurance, Security, Governance and provides globally recognised certifications in these areas. ISACA has its headquarters in the US. ISACA globally has a history of more than 50 years with over 200 chapters worldwide and consist more than 145,000 professionals. 

ISACA Sri Lanka chapter has been in existence for 26 years and has 260+ professional members. There are four student chapters of ISACA in Sri Lanka namely UCSC, NSBM, University of Kelaniya and SLIIT. The chapter has been active in promoting and elevating the Compliance, Governance and IT Security amongst the community in Sri Lanka, through member events, workshops and trainings. ISACA is also the Professional chapter of Federation of Information Technology Industry in Sri Lanka.

Due to its commitment in the past, the ISACA Sri Lanka chapter has won three regional K. Wayne Snipes award as a medium sized chapter in the years 2009, 2015 and 2016. To make it even bigger, in 2021, the chapter won ‘Outstanding Chapter Achievement Award’, under the leadership of Mahendiran Prashanthan with another five chapters amongst 200 globally. 

In addition to this, ISACA Sri Lanka chapter Immediate Past President Sithira Wanniarachchi won the ‘Outstanding Chapter Leader’ award for the year, for his contribution to the community and another past Sri Lankan chapter member residing in New Zealand Nalin Wijetilleke was Inducted the ‘Hall of Fame’ for his contribution to the ISACA over the past decades. 

The Awards Gala took place in New Orleans, USA, on 4 May, in a grand scale. ISACA Sri Lanka chapter would like to congratulate the award winners and would like to see the ISACA community grow further as a leading capacity building association in its domain for its members and MOU partners.
