Sysco LABS was the Strategic Partner for the recently concluded National IT Conference organised by the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) held on 12 and 13 October at the Shangri-La Colombo.

Sysco LABS Director – Engineering and Architecture Nishantha Hettiarachchi speaking at the event, shared his expert insights on ‘Digital Technology Trends beyond 4.0’ to give the audience a window into the future. Nishantha shared his views on how organisations must maximise the value of technology to take their business into the future. He elaborated on 12 technology trends forecasted by Gartner which would act as force multipliers of digital business and innovation over the next three to five years.

A tech industry veteran with over 20 years of experience delivering solutions for different industries, Nishantha highlighted four technology trends that will help organisations maximise the value they create, in the future, including ‘Distributed Enterprise’, ‘Total Experience’, ‘Autonomic Systems’ and ‘Generative AI’. Speaking about technologies that can enable companies to win business and market share, Nishantha said: “CEOs want growth, digitalisation and efficiency. From COVID-19 to economic crises, organisations are constantly challenged by unexpected events. But the promise of using digital business to thrive and outperform the competition during these disruptions remains clear.

“As technology leaders, we have an opportunity to embrace technology trends to accelerate growth and strategically drive our organisations forward. Failure to understand these trends and underestimate their value could lead to failed IT strategies, ultimately leading to the business’s failure. With various trends out there, all of us need to be aware and prioritise the correct IT strategies for the growth of our organisations.”
