Sysco LABS recently obtained the Integrated Management System certification from the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO). The certificates include four ISO certifications, the Facility Management System Policy (ISO 41001:2018 standard), the Business Continuity Management System Policy (ISO 22301:2019 standard), the Environmental Management System Policy (ISO 14001:2015 standard) and the Occupational Health, and Safety Management System Policy (ISO 45001:2018 standard).

As a Global In-House Centre (GIC) of Sysco Corporation (NYSE: SYY), the world’s largest foodservice provider and a Fortune 500 company, the certifications reinforce Sysco LABS’ commitment to delivering world-class and cutting-edge technologies.

Speaking about the achievement, Sysco LABS Managing Director Rasika Karunatilake said, “We have always aligned the organisation with global best practices and international standards – in every aspect of our operations. The certifications validate these efforts, the years we’ve invested in our work and our commitment to continuous improvement. The certifications also let us confidently reaffirm that our work environment is healthy and stable.”

Collectively, the certifications ensure risks, hazards and errors are reduced to promote excellence, efficiency, and adaptability throughout the organisation. There is an additional emphasis on communication, preparedness and proactive management, which are a priority for Sysco LABS.

Commenting on the certifications, Sysco LABS Associate Director – Property, Health and Safety Gavi Perera added, “As Sysco’s largest GIC, Sysco LABS aims to be the leader in defining standards across the technology organisation. This applies here too as the collaborative team worked together to ensure that the certifications were applied for and obtained. We are proud of this achievement and hope to work toward sustained maintenance of these standards.”
