Team Arimac lights way into 2025 with Sri Lanka’s first digital lamp lighting ceremony

Arimac, renowned for its groundbreaking digital solutions, celebrated the new year with a revolutionary twist on a cherished tradition.

For the first time in Sri Lanka, employees across the company came together to light digital oil lamps in real time, symbolising unity, teamwork, and commitment to uphold Arimac’s values.

Traditionally, the oil lamp lighting ceremony is led by distinguished guests as a symbol of guidance and wisdom. Arimac reimagined this practice by inviting every employee to participate, emphasising that the strength of the organisation lies in its people. This shift highlighted Arimac’s commitment to inclusivity and collaboration, ensuring that every individual’s contribution was recognised and celebrated.

The ceremony was also graced with the presence and blessings of religious leaders representing all faiths in Sri Lanka, who emphasised the power of unity, collaboration, and working together with purpose, while also encouraging balance and harmony in life. Their messages deeply resonated, reflecting the values that guide Arimac’s journey forward.

Developed entirely in-house by Arimac’s talented team, the digital platform allowed employees to virtually light a digital oil lamp by submitting their email addresses over a web interface. Each submission triggered a live animation of a lamp being lit, displayed on a dynamic interface streamed across the organisation. The growing light symbolised the collective spirit of unity and collaboration, turning what was once an exclusive ritual into an inclusive celebration involving every member of Arimac.

The oil lamp, a timeless symbol of purity and enlightenment, has long been a part of Sri Lankan celebrations. Arimac’s digital version honoured this tradition while making it accessible to employees who joined both in person and virtually from across the globe. This seamless blend of culture and technology highlighted the company’s ability to innovate while staying rooted in meaningful practices. Over 300+ employees from 10+ locations participated, making it a truly global and inclusive celebration. The live-streamed ceremony was a powerful reminder of Arimac’s core principles: unity, collaboration, and integrity.
