Vish Govindasamy appointed to Dialog Axiata Board

Dialog Axiata PLC has announced the appointment of Visvanathamoorthy Govindasamy as an Independent Non-Executive Director on its Board, effective yesterday (1 October 2024).

Govindasamy serves as an Executive Non-Independent Director at Sunshine Holdings PLC and Watawala Plantations PLC. Within Sunshine Holdings PLC, he holds the position of Deputy Chairman and also serves as a Director for Sunshine Healthcare Lanka Ltd., Sunshine Consumer Lanka Ltd., Sunshine Tea Ltd., Sunshine Wilmar Ltd., Healthguard Pharmacy Ltd., and Watawala Dairy Ltd.

Moreover, he holds Independent Directorship positions at Softlogic Life Insurance PLC, TAL Lanka Hotels PLC, United Motors Lanka PLC, and the 1990 Suwa Seriya Foundation.

Govindasamy’s esteemed leadership extends beyond the corporate realm; he is an appointed Member of the Governing Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, he is the Immediate Past Chairman of The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, and previously held the position of Chairman at the Employers’ Federation of Ceylon.

He holds an MBA from the University of Hartford, USA, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the same institution. Additionally, he is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Certified Professional Managers in Sri Lanka.
