AIA Insurance Lanka PLC has selected Dialog Axiata PLC for their international connectivity requirements between Colombo and Kuala Lumpur. Dialog Axiata provided an iMPLS solution between Sri Lanka and Malaysia to cater to AIA’s requirement of accessing AIA Group’s shared infrastructure hosted in Kuala Lumpur, using a secure and quality-of-service guaranteed link. Dialog’s proven ability to customise a solution based on the customer’s requirements including balancing cost considerations was a critical reason for AIA to decide on a Dialog Enterprise powered solution. The iMPLS connectivity solution ensures that AIA’s vital business requirements are met and supported by a 24x7 operational team backed by state-of-the-art end-to-end network monitoring systems. Dialog’s iMPLS network, running on multiple submarine cable system with ring networks towards east and west of Sri Lanka ensures that customers’ traffic is uninterrupted during a submarine cable failure. Dialog’s iMPLS service is backed by Dialog owned redundant MPLS nodes in Point of Presence (PoP) in Singapore, Hong Kong and UK (United Kingdom) to ensure seamless coverage to all parts of the world. Chandana Jayasooriya, Director Information Technology of AIA Sri Lanka, commenting on the service said: “Dialog’s iMPLS will be a significant value addition to our operation, providing us with seamless connectivity with the whole AIA Group.” Speaking about the expansion, Jeremy Huxtable, Chief Officer of Dialog Enterprise said: “We are delighted to provide a solution that supports AIA’s continued expansion in Asia. Our continuous investments on the domestic network deploying fibre to customer premises, being the first operator in Sri Lanka to launch LTE (Long Term Evolution) services and procuring capacity on all under-sea cables that land in the country has strengthened our ability to provide customised solutions to any part of the globe. “Dialog’s investment in the new submarine cable system, the Bay of Bengal Gateway (BBG) will lower the cost of connectivity for Sri Lankan enterprises, making them competitive in the global marketplace.”
