Bharti Airtel said yesterday that in the speed test results of the periodical survey conducted by Telecommunication Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRC) for the month of August Airtel Lanka has been recognised as the leader in the category of 3G Mobile Broadband.
This survey is regularly conducted by TRC and is a detailed analysis that compares the performance of all operators in Sri Lanka across several categories.
This comes hot on the heels of Airtel Lanka completing a massive network upgrade project involving the installation of upgraded equipment at sites across Colombo, greater Colombo and island wide which would see Airtel Lanka increasing its 2G and 3 G towers across the island thus continuing to maintain quality through its country wide coverage and providing No 1 user experience in Data for subscribers across the island. The project, which began in mid-September of last year, is part of a national network improvement initiative which has enabled Airtel to secure the top spot in the speed test results conducted by the TRC on all mobile broadband providers in Sri Lanka.
Commenting on this Bharti Airtel Sri Lanka CEO/MD Suren Goonewardene said, “Equipped with the ability to deliver high speed HSPA+ at selected sites whilst also having deployed carrier grade ISP solutions to ensure consistent data speeds, we now offer our customers unmatched data service. Aside from delivering on a promise hinged on reliability, the TRC results reaffirm Airtel’s commitment to network excellence by showcasing a month on month win in mobile broadband speed tests against other operators in Sri Lanka.”
