Airtel Lanka’s flagship store now in Main Street, Galle

Bharti Airtel, a leading global telecommunications company with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa has announced the opening of its refurbished flagship store – the Galle Brand Shop of Airtel Lanka. In a move to offer greater convenience to all its customers in Galle and the Southern region, Airtel Lanka’s Southern brand shop will now be located in a spacious and customer-centric location within the Southern Region at No. 138, Main Street, Galle.6

The new store was ceremoniously declared open by Bharti Airtel Lanka Chief Services Officer Romesh De Mel amidst a large gathering of staff, customers and other well-wishers.

Speaking at the event, De Mel stated, “Airtel is a youth brand and we understand that the youth loves and believes in us. All our associations whether it was the Airtel Rising Stars Football program, sports sponsorships or even the messaging of the Be Brave campaign, has all been for the benefit of the youth of Sri Lanka. This segment is very special. They have always demanded for products and services that are customised especially for them and Airtel has always stayed ahead of the curve by catering to these needs proactively.”

De Mel further added, “Airtel has always had a special relationship with the south of the country. It has also significantly upgraded its 3G services thereby bringing faster and more cost effective internet services to the people in the southern province. Hence it is no surprise that we have seen a significant increase in the number of customers coming on board our network from the south. In fact it has been one of the fastest growing regions in the country for us. Our new brand shop/flagship store is located within the heart of Galle. Therefore it is the ideal location for customers to access Airtel services and we will ensure that the youth of the Southern stay connected with their loved ones here in Sri Lanka and all over the world,” he concluded. 

Airtel Lanka has prided itself as being a catalyst of change in Sri Lanka’s telecommunications industry. Therefore this outlet will act as the regional office for all South operations including the Galle, Kalutara, Matara and Hambantota districts.

The new brand shop will be open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on weekdays, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturdays and will offer new customer connections, sim change requests, bill payments, reloads and recharges, VAS and GPRS setting, handset deals, sales of dongles and wingles as well as corporate solutions.
