Bharti Airtel, a leading global telecommunications company with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa, has now launched ‘My Airtel Status’ as a unique service which empowers users to select a relevant status message and inform callers of them being preoccupied or unable to take calls at that particular point in time.

“At Airtel, it is our constant endeavor to introduce services that are innovative, relevant and affordable for our customers across Sri Lanka. Now available for Airtel mobile customers across Sri Lanka, the unique ‘My Airtel Status’ service is key to allowing customers to communicate their moods, schedules and manage their incoming calls in a manner more efficient, effective and customised to their needs.

Specifically given the current social times when customers like to keep their friends, family and peers updated - we are confident that Airtel customers across Sri Lanka will see great value from subscribing to a service like ‘My Airtel Status’ which will allow them to select personalised status message and let their social circle know of what’s keeping them busy,” said Bharti Airtel Sri Lanka CEO Suren Goonewardene.

Airtel mobile customers in Sri Lanka can now dial *751# to activate this service and select a given status/mood message from a range of messages available in all three languages (Sinhala, Tamil and English) for an activating price of Rs. 5 + taxes. Once a status is activated the customer will receive a confirmation SMS and then callers will hear the status instead of the ring or the existing song of the customer.
