Airtel to enhance social media experience through free FB

Bharti Airtel, a leading global telecommunications services provider with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa, yesterday announced the launch of a new and exclusive social media experience for the first time in Sri Lanka titled ‘Free FB’. Under the promotion, Airtel pre-paid customers will be given free Facebook usage simply by reloading a sum of Rs. 109 and as a further value addition; the reload can be utilised for any other Airtel service such as voice, SMS or data. The free Facebook data service will reoccur every time a customer reloads the same sum and users are entitled to an unlimited number of reloads. This ensures that the Speaking on the introduction of this new service, Airtel Lanka Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director Suren Goonewardene said: “Airtel Lanka since its entry in to the Sri Lankan market has strived to bring innovative and customer-centred products and services to our users. We see a significant shift of social media usage in Sri Lanka, specifically among the youth and therefore offer the new Free FB service to allow our customers a superior experience on the most popular social media platform.” This first-of-its-kind service offering in Sri Lanka will allow Airtel users the privilege of connecting to Facebook and enjoy free browsing for a period of 20 days. This also gives customers who are non data users the opportunity to experience Airtel’s data services, speed levels and  engage in social media activities which will invariable provide them with the opportunity to connect with their friends and family.
