New Zealand company PowerShield Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sri Lanka’s Assidua Technologies, which specialises in the provision of IT hardware for uninterrupted power supply services.
The MoU outlines an agreement that Assidua Technologies will sell PowerShield equipment as part of its core battery monitoring solutions.
PowerShield supplies battery monitoring equipment for new or replacement uninterrupted power supply systems where installations require reliable and continuous power supply, such as banks, data centres, airports, and emergency centres.
Its system is used in Whitehall’s Ministry of Defence bunker, at NASA, at Microsoft, in Hong Kong’s Light Rail system and China’s Huawei, monitoring megabanks of batteries that can be called into service in the event of a power outage.
PowerShield Director Len Thomas said the company was pleased to be entering into a formal agreement with Assidua Technologies following a successful visit to Sri Lanka last November. “Assidua Technologies is going to be an excellent partner for us. I am excited at the opportunities in Sri Lanka and beyond and welcome the benefits this new partnership will bring to both countries.”
The signing of the MoU was witnessed at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce by New Zealand Prime Minister John Key.
Key, accompanied by a senior business delegation, was in Sri Lanka to reinforce the growing economic ties and commercial initiatives underway between New Zealand and Sri Lanka.
Two-way trade between New Zealand and Sri Lanka totalled $324 million last year.
