ASUS amongst top 5 PC vendors worldwide in latest IDC report

According to the most recent IDC (International Data Corporation) PC market share chart for the second quarter of 2014, ASUS was identified as one of the top five PC vendors worldwide. The IT magnate came in at fifth place, with an increase from 5.9% market share in Q2 last year to a 6.2% this year. The company has maintained continued growth in PC shipments inspite of a 1.7% decrease in worldwide PC shipments including both desktop and notebook units in the second quarter of 2014. Speaking about this Rajeev Chaudhari, Director Operations (India) and Country Product Manager (Sri Lanka) said, “We are very pleased to have maintained our position in the top five from the first quarter of the year. At ASUS our commitment is to ensure we deliver innovative and affordable products to our consumers and the most recent IDC reports indicate that we are doing so.” ASUS also maintained its position in the top five players within the worldwide tablet market, with a 4.6% market share for Q2 in 2014. Currently the company offers the customers several tablet options – including the Nexus 7 picked as the editor’s choice and “the Android tablet to get” by CNET when it debuted for being the best value for money product in the market; the MeMO Pad which boasts of one of the slimmest and most lightweight products in its price range; the ASUS Transformer Pad which offers the convenience of a tablet and the ease of a notebook; VIVO tab and the phablet – the Fonepad.
