ASUS Computers, renowned for their affordable and user-friendly notebooks announced plans to launch the ASUS Flip Book - the brand’s most recent innovation - to the local market later this year. The Flip Book, which can work as a powerful laptop, a responsive tablet or anything in between, was unveiled earlier this year at Computex, Taiwan. The stylish laptop with its 360-degree rotating touch screen has a remarkable hinge design that enables the screen to be set at any angle between zero and 360 degrees. The cleverly engineered hinge has four gears to ensure smooth, step-less movement to have the screen exactly where the user wants it with effortless adjustment. “This device is incredibly versatile – switching from laptop to tablet or anything else you need it to be in mere seconds. Whether it’s a media stand for watching a movie or viewing photographs, or a tablet for playing the latest games, it is a whole new level of freedom in computing,” said Director Operations (India) and Country Product Manager (Sri Lanka) Rajeev Chaudhari. With an Intel i3 4th Generation processor, Intel HD Graphics 4400 and a Sonic Master audio system, the Flip offers the very best to consumers. It is also equipped with an automatic keyboard and touchpad lock, which is activated whenever Flip is used in a non-laptop mode to avoid unwanted input. Users will have access to ASUS Web storage, giving users free access to the ASUS Cloud for easy storage, sharing and syncing, along with accessibility to documents and files from anywhere on a host of devices. Designed to be smart and stylish, with a hairline-textured finish for a touch of luxury, the compact chassis gives the Flip strength and durability. The brand also launched its ASUS Gold Partner (AGP) program and the ASUS Systems Partner (ASP) program in Sri Lanka, to enhance the brand’s relationship with its channel partners. Under these initiatives, ASUS is expected to initiate better sales and marketing across the island via its numerous channel partners to offer consumers ASUS’s award winning Notebook range especially Flip models, T100 series and X200. “The ASUS Gold Partners Program is a special initiative that enables us to fortify our relationship with our channel partners and vendors. By focusing on better end user visibility compared to traditional channels – the program allows channel partners to provide better deals to the end users while assisting us in maintaining long-term relationships with our partners,” said Chaudhari. Meanwhile, ASUS appointed Ishkey Irshard as Country Channel Manager for the brand effective from October 2014. With over seven years in the project management and IT field, Irshard has worked in retail for the past four and a half years and more recently as the Head of Retail prior to his appointment at ASUS. Speaking about the appointment, Rajeev Chaudhari said, “We are extremely pleased to have Ishkey on board to spearhead the ASUS brand in Sri Lanka. I’m confident that he will help grow our brand in the coming months.”
