The Winchester Ballroom of the Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo came alive with scintillating music, plush décor, and aromatic food on 27 September, when ASUS Sri Lanka held its ASUS Partner Trivia Night. ASUS, in keeping with its partner-centric business model, organized the Trivia Night to benefit its partners in the retail outfits. Partners from around the country were in attendance, and 36 personnel from 12 partner organisations took part in the Trivia Night for a chance to boast their trivia knowledge and for the magnificent prizes on offer.

The night consisted of three trivia rounds and two activity rounds. Emcee Abbasali Rozais effortlessly guided the teams along the rounds of trivia and activities. The questions addressed a range of topics from current global and local politics, science, history and geography of Sri Lanka, and the Sri Lankan entertainment industry, to sports and IT.

Cocktails and food followed the rounds, and the partners took the time to interact with the other partners at the event. There was a general air of revelry following the intense competition. The tabulated results were revealed after the refreshments.

The first prize of a 3-day, 2-night full-board stay at a Jetwing Hotel for the three team mates and three genuine Swiss Military watches worth more than Rs. 50,000 each for the three team members was awarded to the team from Unity Systems by Ishkey Irshard – Country Channel Manager for ASUS Sri Lanka and Maldives. The second prize was a dinner voucher for the three members at a Cinnamon Hotel in Colombo and three U.S. Polo watches worth more than Rs. 25,000 each, and this prize was won by Sonad Computer’s team. The prize was awarded by Ibrahim Mubarak – Assistant Channel Marketing Manager Asus Sri Lanka. The third prize of three Seiko watches worth more than Rs. 20,000 each was handed by Janaka Karunathilake, Assistant Channel Manager – Outstation Asus Sri Lanka, to the team from IT Galaxy.

Speaking at the event, Irshard thanked the partners for the hard work they have put in, and explained how the brand has progressed from his one-man team to one that can handle all formats of business both in and out of Colombo. Irshard suggested that the knowledge from the Trivia Night would add strength to retail partners’ interactions with clients, adding that ASUS is with their partners through the good times and the b ad.
