attune Consulting, a premier global solutions provider to the fashion and lifestyle industries, was a proud Gold Sponsor at the SAP Retail Forum 2014, which was held in New York, during the second week of October. The annual event is dedicated to bring retailers together to interact, learn from each other and hear from the best industry experts. This year, breakouts were organised against three retail platforms: food, drug and convenience stores; fashion and department stores; and general merchandise and hardliners. Brooks Brothers, Sports Basement and Luxottica were some of the fashion retailers that attended the event. Much emphasis was given to SAP’s new Fashion Management Solution; a co-innovation effort between SAP, attune and a few selected fashion brands. attune was the sole SAP partner to showcase the new solution, at this year’s retail forum. The forum provided the opportunity for retailers to learn more about the first-ever vertically integrated fashion solution, which merges wholesale, manufacturing and retail businesses into a single, real-time platform. At the event, attune’s team, along with key SAP members demonstrated how innovation is utilised to build a customer-centric experience, to deliver on the omni-channel fulfillment promise. The annual event hosted by SAP dispersed straightforward and realistic information about the latest, feasible IT trends. Retailers were advised to use predictive analytics, to move beyond analysing what has happened, and what is happening, to analysing what will happen. Secondly, merchandisers and marketers were advised to use predictive analytics and other IT tools, to make dynamic product recommendations that cater to the real-time needs of the shopper, which creates an effective and personalised customer experience. In addition, retailers were offered guidance to use cloud-based technology that provides the ability for people with minimal IT expertise to assess, purchase and deploy solutions without the need for assistance from the IT department. Keeping all of these tech trends in mind, attune will continue to create innovative solutions and expand its worldwide presence, to meet customer demand across all areas of the fashion and lifestyle value chain.
