Ceylon Chamber, BMMP unveil Norwegian eMatch portal to SL

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) in collaboration with Advance Business Partner AS, Norway organised a seminar on business matchmaking opportunities with Norway, was held recently at the board room of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.

Over 50 Sri Lankan ICT company representatives took part in this seminar which was highly beneficial as they were given an introduction to business matchmaking opportunities with Norway, e-Match portal for Nordic innovation and business opportunities, business matchmaking workshop to be held in Oslo on 12 and 13 October 2011. This event will be attended by a delegation selected from the ICT sector in Sri Lanka sponsored by the Sri Lanka-Norway Business Matchmaking Programme.

CEO of Infosector Bard Krogshus and Managing Director Inge Reithaug of AB Partners AS, from Norway, the company which partners the BMMP with the CCC, were involved with the presentations. The BMMP Programme implemented by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce is funded by NORAD (Norwegian Assistance for Regional Dev-elopment) has been in operation since 1994, which has resulted in more than 100 collaboration partnerships between Norwegian and Sri Lankan companies. Such collaborations have contributed to increased profitability, transfer of technology, new business enterprises and employment opportunities.

This seminar also served as an introduction to the Business Matchmaking Programme to the ICT sector in Sri Lanka.

e-Match, www.ematch.eu, is a shared platform for business and innovation matchmaking that allows companies to increase its visibility, search for partners and maximise its opportunities with potential partners.

SLASSCOM Director/General Secretary and CEO of Eurocenter DDC Mano Sekaram presented his experiences working in Norway. Further he spoke about the Norwegian culture and the advantages of linking up with them in order to succeed in business development. During the seminar, the participants had the opportunity of discussing the BMMP programme with the Norwegian representatives as well.
