chargeNET wins United Nations World Summit Award in Vienna

chargeNET wins Best and Most Innovative Digital Innovation with high impact on society, in the Smart Settlement and Urbanisation category, at the World Summit Awards (WSA) held in Vienna, Austria on the 22nd of March 2018. 

WSA is a global initiative within the framework of the United Nations World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), focusing on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). chargeNET was the only Sri Lankan solution among 400 applications, from 180 UN member states, to have been awarded this prestigious award in the year 2017. 

The WSA Congress saw a myriad of products and innovative solutions, that addressed major economic, social and humanitarian problems, faced by a world that is moving in full speed and infinite technology advances. From health to quality education, sustainable manufacturing to renewable energy, these topics were discussed largely, to meet consensus among innovation specialists from around the word. The objective behind WSA and the UN Sustainable Development framework, is to discover new ways of solving real world problems through intuitive and intelligent technology; a new way to do business, uplift livelihoods and to accelerate economies of the world.
