CICRA announces Network Security Administrator scholarship winners

CICRA Consultancies Ltd – Sri Lanka’s premier cyber security training and consultancy organization – announced the ten scholarship winners to follow EC-Council Network Security Administrator (ENSA) training program. Following an open application process, the winners were selected during a career guidance seminar on ‘importance of cyber security training’ organised by CICRA at Royal College, Colombo recently.

Sanath Manatunga, Chief Risk Officer of the Commercial Bank PLC was the chief guest of this seminar. Mr. Manatunga, the only Sri Lankan to win the EC-Council Global Award for Chief Information Security Officer, delivered the keynote speech on Importance of cyber security in risk mitigation. “Total value of these ten scholarships is more than one million rupees. Each scholarship covers Rs. 65,000/- worth course fee and a US$ 250 worth exam voucher,” CICRA Director/CEO Boshan Dayaratne said. “Network security plays a major role in protecting the corporate IT infrastructure. Therefore, we are pleased to introduce this advanced training program for all network and system administrators in Sri Lanka,” Mr. Dayaratne said. “Some of the key areas that the participants will learn from ENSA training are intrusion detection and intrusion prevention systems, log analysis, patch management, virtual private networks and remote networking, creating fault tolerance, incident response, disaster recovery and planning, and network vulnerability assessment,” he said.

“Students will also learn how to evaluate network and Internet security issues and design, and how to implement successful security policies and firewall strategies. In addition, they will learn how to expose system and network vulnerabilities and defend against them,” he said. Mr. Dayaratne said that ENSA training is different from CICRA’s flagship training program Certified Ethical Hacking and Countermeasures (C|EH). “ENSA certification looks at the network security in defensive view while the CEH certification program looks at the security in offensive mode,” he said. CICRA is an accredited training center of International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultants (EC-Council), USA.
