With its success in Project Management Professional (PMP) training, CICRA Institute of Education yesterday announced the launch of Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) also offered through Project Management Institute, USA.

“CAPM is a valuable entry-level certification for project practitioners. Designed for those with little or no project experience, the CAPM® demonstrates your understanding of the fundamental knowledge, terminology and processes of effective project management,” CICRA Centre for Project Management Excellence Head Dr. Madhu Fernando said.

“Whether you’re a student, new to project management, changing careers, or already serving as a subject matter expert on project teams, the CAPM can get your career on the right path or take it to the next level.”

“If you’re a less experienced project practitioner looking to demonstrate your commitment to project management, improve your ability to manage larger projects and earn additional responsibility, and stand out to potential employers, the CAPM certification is right for you,” Dr. Fernando said.

“A person who has passed the Advanced Level exam can sit for the CAPM exam conducted by PMI, USA after completing the mandatory three day training at CICRA,” she said.

“Project success depends on the knowledge, skills, competence of the project managers and the project team members. Even if you have professionally qualified and experienced project managers, if the team members do not have the right skills and knowledge required to perform their tasks, project success is very unlikely.”

“CAPM program at CICRA is designed in a way that junior project managers, project team members, and other key stakeholders learn the complete process of Project Management and understand how their roles are linked to the success of the project and ultimately the success of their organisation.”

“Participants will learn global Project Management Standards set by Project Management Institute USA, across nine knowledge areas of Project Management : Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human Resource Management, Communication, Risk, Procurement and Project Integration Management, while strengthening their interpersonal skills, like leadership, communication, influential skills, negotiation and conflict management with interactive sessions, games and role plays,” she said.

Meanwhile, CICRA Director/CEO Boshan Dayaratne said that CICRA is armed with best training environment for project management.

“We have best of facilities including a modern computer lab and rooftop dining area. But, what is most important is that we have the best Sri Lankan trainer for project management exclusively signed up with us,” he said.
