  •  Experts envision boom in local mobile app industry

Over 100 jobs in the software engineering sector will open up when Creation Application shifts its entire technical operations from the UK to Sri Lanka within the next 12 months.

“We have found Sri Lanka to have some of the world’s brightest mobile app developers. The mobile app industry is less than four years old and relatively new. We envision Sri Lanka to be a future global hub for this technology,” said Sri Lankan born entrepreneur and co-founder of Creation Application Keith de Alwis. “Our belief in the potential of the Sri Lanka’s technical capability has enabled our move to Colombo.”

Creation Application expects to reign in engineering graduates from universities who they believe are apt to be trained in the application development categories. “The global mobile applications market is worth $ 6.8 billion in 2010 to $ 25 billion by the year 2015. This 367 per cent increase in five years shows the massive growth the sector is experiencing at present.”

The UK-based software development company specialises in Mobile Application development. They have offices in London and Toronto as well as choosing Sri Lanka as the hub of all the technical and development capabilities.  According to them the low operational costs and favourable foreign investment laws have made Sri Lanka an opportune choice for companies to invest.
