SEARCC annually organises the International Schools Software Competition in one of the member countries and this year it was in Sri Lanka organised by CSSL.
The competition involves school children from across the Asian pacific region where they have to develop software as part of the competition. Their ability to do that during the competition is assessed by a panel of judges.
The winner of the competition was the Republic of China (Taiwan) team. Australia came in the second place while the Indian team won the third place. Sri Lanka Team A won the fourth place.
The competition was held at University of Colombo, School of Computing and the awards ceremony was held at Great Wall Restaurant, Colombo 03. CSSL past presidents and CSSL fellow members graced the occasion. CSSL President Mahesh Perera, CSSL Vice President Ajith Salgado and the CSSL Executive Council members also participated at the event.
