WSO2 announced yesterday that technology research firm Current Analysis has ranked WSO2 four stars out of five for its launch of WSO2 Stratos 1.5 and WSO2 StratosLive.

WSO2 Stratos is WSO2’s 100% open source cloud middleware platform. WSO2 StratosLive is the platform-as-a-service (PaaS), which is hosted by WSO2 and powered by the WSO2 Stratos software.

The full Current Analysis report, “WSO2 Rolls Out Comprehensive Middleware Offering as PaaS,” can be downloaded by visiting http://wso2.com/casestudies/the-current-analysis-report-wso2-rolls-out-comprehensive-middleware-offering-as-paas.

According to the Current Analysis report, WSO2 Stratos and WSO2 StratosLive together represent, “A comprehensive cloud solution for service-oriented architecture (SOA) and composite application development.”

It also notes that WSO2, “Provides a solid go-to-market strategy for enticing enterprises with a complete SOA and developer platform (Stratos) through a self-service, multi-tenant, scalable runtime to support private and public infrastructures.”

The Current Analysis report further observes that, “WSO2 Stratos builds on the momentum of the WSO2 Carbon product, a comprehensive, OSGi-based middleware platform that has matured over the past couple years to provide a number of capabilities required for cloud-based software deployment, including security, clustering, logging, statistics, and management.”  Because WSO2 Stratos and the 100% open source WSO2 Carbon enterprise middleware platform share the same code base, WSO2 uniquely enables developers to migrate their applications and services smoothly and safely between on-premise servers, a private PaaS, a public PaaS, and hybrid cloud environments—providing unprecedented deployment flexibility.

“We are excited to be recognised by Current Analysis for our WSO2 StratosLive PaaS and WSO2 Stratos 1.5 cloud middleware platform,” said WSO2 Founder and CEO Dr. Sanjiva Weerawarana.

“It is strong validation of our open standards approach and commitment to maintaining a common set of code to empower developers to deploy wherever they need, whether it’s on-premise or in private or public clouds.”

WSO2 is the lean enterprise middleware company. It delivers the only complete open source enterprise SOA middleware stack purpose-built as an integrated platform to support today’s heterogeneous enterprise environments — internally and in the cloud.

WSO2’s service and support team is led by technical experts who have proven success in deploying enterprise SOAs and contribute to the technology standards that enable them.
