Dealers rewarded at Lenovo-Abans Mobile Phone Key Partners Get-Together 2016

The Lenovo-Abans Product Launch and Mobile Phone Key Partners Get-Together 2016 was recently held at Hotel Ozo, Colombo on Friday, 21 October. This event signified Abans’ goal of recognising the achievements of its key mobile phone partners for the year 2014/2015 and 2015/2016. It also celebrated Abans’ giant leap forward towards the next innovation in Smartphone technology with the official product launch of the latest Lenovo Vibe C Series Smartphones.

Lenovo Executive Director Sudhin Mathur graced the occasion as Chief Guest while Lenovo Sri Lanka Country Manager Sunil Verma attended the event as the guest of honour. 

Dignitaries from Abans PLC were also in attendance, namely, Managing Director Tito Pestonjee and Deputy Directors Dinesh Perera and Buddhika Dharmawardana. 

The event commenced with the lighting of the oil lamp and a welcome address delivered by Abans PLC Sales Manager Mohan Sivanandan, cordially welcoming the Chief Guest, dignitaries, key mobile partners, and promoters who had gathered for that evening. 

Tito Pestonjee also addressed the gathering, while Sudhin Mathur conducted the keynote speech, providing remarks on the innovative features that the Lenovo smartphones have to offer.

This was followed by the product launch of the Lenovo Vibe C Series where Sunil Verma officially introduced and launched the newest range of Lenovo smartphones.

The event also rewarded the exceptional achievements attained by Abans’ key partners with round-the-world trips and other prizes.

The prize for the Most Promising Promoters were awarded to Tharindu Sirimalwattha – Thilakawardana Cellular Centre, Kiribathgoda, Gayan Kodagoda – Siriwardna & Sons, and Suranaga Sandaruwa – Navodya Cellular Ratnapura for the year 2014/2015, as well as, Nilakshi Rupasinghe – Champa Stores, Kandy, Mohomed Nafras – Mobile Vision, Galle, and Roshan Sanjeewa – Sawana Cellular, Nitambuwa, for the year 2015/2016.  The winners of the Best Promoter – Highest Sell Out were Mohomed Nafras – Mobile Vision, Galle, for the year 2014/2015 and Roshan Sanjeewa, Sawana Cellular, Nitambuwa for the year 2015/2016. The 1st runners-up were Sameera Madushanka – Opsell Phone Gallery, Malabe, (2014/2015), and Aruna – Walk & Talk, Raddolugama (2015/2016), while Thuwanshan – Thilakawardana Cellular Center, Gampaha, was awarded 2nd runner up for both the 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 sales periods.

For the Best Sell Out award category, the winners were Thilakawardana Cellular Centre, Kiribathgoda, and Sawana Cellular, Nittambuwa for 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 respectively. The 1st runners-up were Ranga Shopping Centre, Panadura for the year 2014/2015 and Indika Phone Shop, Matara, for 2015/2016, while Mobile Vision, Galle (2015/2016), and Indika Phone Shop, Matara (2014/2015) were recognised as 2nd runners-up.

Interspersed throughout the proceedings were energetic and exciting entertainment acts performed by Giriraj Kaushalya and his team, and a belly dance act. There was also a raffle draw where the winners received the Lenovo Vibe K5 Note with VR Glass, Lenovo Laptop, and Lenovo Vibe C as prizes.
