The Debug Group and Think Green signed a MoU in the initiative towards sustainability to partner in managing, disposing and responsibly recycling of electronic waste generated not only by the company, but also extending the free service to the general public.

Debug is an ISO9001:2008 certified group of companies catering primarily to the IT industry and also to power, renewable energy and automotive sectors. Debug focuses on three growth areas of sustainability, continuous improvement and business excellence.

Think Green is a pioneer in providing e-waste management in Sri Lanka. Approved by the Central Environment Authority and regulations of UN Basel Conventions, Think Green is ISO14001, ISO9001, and OHSAS18001 certified.

Improper disposal of e-waste has become a growing concern due to the environmental implications caused thereby. Ad-hock incineration and dumping of e-waste releases harmful toxins to the environment; furthermore the raw materials that might be recycled and directly or indirectly used to produce a new item are lost causing the use of additional natural resources and energy.

The Debug Group and Think Green are committed to responsible management of E-waste.  The general public is requested to handover their unusable electronics to any of Debug’s 15 outlets islandwide for free recycling.
