Dell rated No.1 PC vendor by IDC for 7th successive time

For the seventh consecutive time IT brand Dell brand has been recognised as the No. 1 PC vendor in the country in the latest report released by the International Data Corporation (IDC). Dell has successfully secured 38.5% of the overall PC market in Sri Lanka for the second quarter of 2014, according to IDC’s 2Q Worldwide Quarterly PC Tracker. “This latest data issued by IDC is encouraging in that more Sri Lankan customers truly believe that we can help them drive results and increase opportunities,” said Dell Sri Lanka Country Manager Lackshmindra Fernando. “We have expanded our reach and are now available in all parts of the island through our partners.” Over the past few years Dell has successfully evolved from a PC manufacturer to an end-to-end IT solutions provider with its current portfolio consisting of desktop PCs, notebook PCs, mobile devices as well as the exiting suite of enterprise class solutions in storage, servers, networking and IT management solutions. “We are seeing a growing demand for our enterprise products in the country at present. It is encouraging to know that Sri Lankan customers are looking to Dell for their enterprise needs such as servers, storage, networks, data security in addition to their regular PC requirements. We have a host of high-quality enterprise solutions for varying segments and are excited to engage with our customers and show them how they can be successful and secure in a world being transformed by the forces of cloud, big data and mobility,” Fernando added.
