Dialog puts social top ups, Skype, chat and more on mobile

Sri Lanka’s number one mobile network, Dialog, has introduced a host of value-added options to further enhance its customer experience.

Dialog is giving impetus to social-media buffs, affording them the facility to reload Dialog Pre-Paid connections via Facebook. Dialog is the first mobile service provider in Sri Lanka to offer this service, and users simply need to log in to Facebook and search for ‘Social Top Up’ application and reloads can be done in three easy steps.

Customers can also now Skype from their Dialog mobiles for as little as two rupees a minute. Simply type Skype <space> the user ID of the person you wish to contact and users will receive as SMS with a number to dial to reach his/her contact.

In addition, Group Reply is another new innovative service introduced by Dialog allowing users to send and receive SMS from multiple users simultaneously. Similar to a chat function, Group Reply affords users the same experience employing SMS, whereby they can chat with up to four Dialog Mobile users at the price of one. Users are allowed up to 100 simultaneous chat sessions, which means a customer can have up to 100 friends circles, family groups or work groups, and have 100 chat sessions at the same time. This service is available to all Dialog Mobile users at just 50 cents per each SMS sent to a chat session, whilst each session can have a maximum of five and a minimum of three participants.

Dialog is also offering a personalised horoscope service in Sinhala and English. Customers simply need to dial #678# and give their birth details, and they would receive a fully personalised reading from three renowned astrologers at a nominal fee.
