Dialog launched an innovative new service recently titled ‘Say It In English’; where customers can call in and learn how to say a desired sentence or word in English.

Dialog Mobile users simply need to dial 550 which would connect them instantly to a dedicated call centre, whereby agents would offer the required assistance to communicate a message in English. This service is available for Sinhala to English and Tamil to English translations everyday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Customers could subscribe to this service for as little as Rs. 5 per week, and Rs. 1 per minute for every call.

‘Say It In English’ forms part of Dialog’s commitment to knowledge empowerment and sustainability, and serves as an example of how ICTs can effect social transformation. Its design philosophy makes it applicable and affordable whilst creating affinity across all segments especially at the bottom of the pyramid, making it a tool capable of empowering people with access to information.
