Dinesh honoured with The Most Outstanding Contribution Award

At the recently concluded NBQSA awards, The Most Outstanding Contribution Award was presented to founder and CEO of hSenid Group of Companies and Chairman Emeritus of SLASSCOM Dinesh Saparamadu.

The award is given to recognise individuals who have been instrumental in shaping the ICT landscape of Sri Lanka. Saparamadu accounts for over 20 years in the ICT industry.

He has been the driving force behind a high calibre and passionate team, taking hSenid from a start-up to the global arena within a short span of time.

Saparamadu also served as the chairman of SLASSCOM from 2009 to 2011 and currently serves on the board as Chairman Emeritus.

Many SLASSCOM member companies walked away with awards for their outstanding achievements in the ICT field including John Keells Computer Services (Pvt.) Ltd. being awarded the overall gold award. Axienta (Pvt.) Ltd., OpenArc Systems Management (Pvt.) Ltd., Fortunaglobal (Pvt.) Ltd., Zone Twenty Four Seven (Pvt.) Ltd., IronOne Technologies, Synapsys and Ridgecrest Asia (Pvt.) Ltd. were also among the winners at NSBQA 2012.

SLASSCOM and BCSSL have been working closely to recognise and encourage ICT entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka with SLASSCOM sponsoring the ‘ICT Entrepreneur of the Year’ award at NBQSA for the second consecutive year.

Nominations for the ICT Entrepreneur Award 2012 were called from entrepreneurs who have demonstrated outstanding entrepreneurial qualities in growing and developing their own businesses in the ICT industry. ICT Entrepreneur of the Year-2012 special recognition was awarded to Chamira Prasad Jayasinghe.

“We are delighted to see our past chairman and so many member companies being recognised at the National Best Quality ICT Awards for their remarkable contributions to ICT industry. These individuals and companies strive towards uplifting the quality of the local ICT industry and fuelling its growth. We congratulate them on their great achievements,” said Sujiva Dewaraja, Chairman of SLASSCOM.    

The NBQSA competition is an annual event organised by the BCS The Chartered Institute for IT Sri Lanka (BCSSL) Section.

The objectives of the NBQSA competition are to provide recognition to outstanding achievements of individuals and organisations in Sri Lanka who/which have contributed to the development of ICT, to create a window to gain international recognition for locally developed ICT products and to improve standards and the quality of local ICT products and services to be able to compete in the international market place.     SLASSCOM (Sri Lanka Association of Software and Services Companies) is the IT/BPO industry chamber that represents the IT/BPO and knowledge services industry.  

The SLASSCOM vision of the IT/BPO industry is to become the top revenue earner for the country within the next 10 years, and a medium term goal of achieving US$ 1 billion in export revenue with direct employment of 80,000 within the next four years.

All its endeavours are geared towards driving Sri Lanka to reach the national goal of becoming the number one industry to lead Sri Lanka to being a knowledge economy.
