DMS Electronics together with Hewlett Packard supported the 34 Asia Pacific Advanced Network Ltd conference recently. The conference which was organised and hosted by the Lanka Education and Research Network (LEARN) was held at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, with the participation of over 150 foreign and local researchers from academic organisations, think-tanks and research organisations.

“We are happy to partner with HP and support LEARN, in hosting this important event,” said Managing Director of DMS Electronics (DMSE), T.L. Chandranath. “Over the years, DMSE has helped LEARN to build a robust ICT infrastructure across many Universities in Sri Lanka, as a supplier of cutting edge networking and infrastructure equipment and services. The conference was extremely beneficial to local researchers and the IT community. We congratulate LEARN on concluding a successful conference yet again.”

The conference program included workshops and case analyses, on technology application in medicine, high-definition TV, middleware, agriculture, and e-culture and the advance research conducted in the field of IPv6, network security, unified communications and sensor networks and so on.

“I want to thank HP and DMSE for supporting us to host APAN 34,” stated Director of LEARN, Dr. Ajith Pasqual. “Local companies and their principals have an important role to play in supporting the development of local academic activities and promoting research. Conferences like APAN help to promote Sri Lanka as a destination among the region’s researchers while helping to create exchanges between local and foreign researchers.”
