E-tel, one of the most popular brands in the local smartphone market, has entered the fast lane with the introduction of the brand’s first Quad Core processor phone. The E-tel ‘Curiosity N3’ is powered by the latest MediaTeck Superfast 1.3Ghz Quad-Core Processor and runs on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, offering smartphone enthusiasts a high-end high performance phone that the brand’s promoter Brantel says can be considered a benchmark for smartphone performance. The sleek and slim dual SIM phone has a standard and a micro SIM port, is HSPA and Wi-Fi/Wi-Fi Hotspot enabled, and has a 4.5-inch 16M colour full touch IPS display. An 8MP auto focus back camera with flash, geo-tagging and face detection and a 2MP front camera make the E-tel Curiosity N3 an ultra-versatile device that will be a formidable rival to some of the top brands in the smartphone arena, the company said. “We expect the Curiosity N3 to make serious waves in the smartphone market,” Brantel CEO Bishri Latiff said. “What will make this phone a winner is its amazing price tag of Rs. 21,900, offering best-in-class smartphone features, speed and capacity for the price of a high-end feature phone.” He said E-tel phones are designed in Hong Kong and manufactured in three top ten ranked manufacturing facilities in China that produce branded smartphones for the European and US markets, guaranteeing the same high level of quality, consistency and performance. One of the key strengths of the E-tel brand has been its ability to offer the latest in technology without the price tag associated with building global brand equity. The phone memory of the E-tel Curiosity N3 can be extended up to 32GB with a micro SD card.  The 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled smart phone supports all multimedia and social media applications like Skype, YouTube, Facebook, Gmail and Google Chat and in addition to being GPS enabled with inbuilt Google Maps, comes with default access to Google Play Store to enable users to access and download a vast array of compatible applications. E-tel phones are available in nearly 2000 dealer outlets in Sri Lanka and a Brantel owned aftersales service network of seven service centres in Colombo, Anuradhapura, Kandy, Matara, Negombo, Kurunegala and Ratnapura. Brantel has been in operation in Sri Lanka since 2004 and launched the E-tel brand in 2008. The E-tel brand has feature phones, touch phones and Smart Phones. E-tel has gained significant market share in the smart phone segment, rivalling established mainstream brands.
