Information security, virtualisation and cloud security solutions are buzz words in the IT world and will probably turn out to be the next big revolution, experts suggest.

In line with these developments in the industry, EGUARDIAN, which is one of the top players in value added distribution concept in South East Asia, recently conducted its Sri Lankan chapter partner conference at Chaaya Tranz Hikkaduwa under the theme ‘Building a Better Partnership’.

EGUARDIAN, which is a regional value added distributor specialising in providing innovative technology products and services for data centre networking and information security, focused on strengthening and elevating its offerings in this vital professional and highly skilled industry and used this conference to layout the framework for strengthening its partnerships in the industry.

The event also provided EGUARDIAN with the opportunity to discuss with some of the leading experts both their current capabilities and future initiatives which are necessary to keep pace with the ever-changing cyber landscape.

The event was attended by a large group of people both from here and abroad and consisted of all important principals representing the likes of HP Enterprise Security, Fortinet, Arista and A10 Networks.

EGUARDIAN Group Chairman Kai Kayang was also a participant at the event along with other key individuals representing the brands of EGUARDIAN. Many companies who are in the trade of system integration attended the event from Sri Lanka, as well as from the host country.

The forums held during the first day included panel discussions on many important topics that included the main focus area which was that of strengthening and highlight the solutions available in information security, virtualisation and cloud security solutions and to evaluate the evolving cyber threats dealt with on a daily basis.

The conference was also designed to discuss matters on further extending the breadth of product and service offerings, which will create greater value for customers, build new business relationships with industry affiliates and leaders in systems integration and develop the market further.

EGUARDIAN’S Group Chairman mentioned that Sri Lanka is a booming market, with a lot of potential. “We have decided to pay special attention to strengthening local partners (system integrators) who have been working with us for the last two years and focus across the region, with the concept of value added distribution. This area of expertise has been our key to success and we trust Sri Lanka is our next success story.”

EGUARDIAN believes that partnerships are required across all levels that include both government and the private sector to share information about emerging threats and measures which needed to be taken on how to stop them, and coordinate mitigation efforts in response to cyber incidents. It is confident that forums such as this provide a valuable opportunity, where they could share experiences and best practices which are absolutely critical to building stronger partnerships.
