ElitePad 900: HP’s latest tablet now in Sri Lanka

The world’s leader in innovative technology and personal computer manufacturing Hewlett-Packard (HP) launched the ElitePad 900, the newest addition the HP portfolio, in Sri Lanka yesterday. Unveiled as a ‘true tablet for businesses’ targeting commercial users, the Elitepad 900 was launched in the Asia Pacific on 30 January 2013 while the product entered the markets in Europe in mid-2012.

Top officials of HP present at the launch included HP Printing and Personal Systems Market Development Manager Imran Khan, HP Printing and Personal Systems Market Country Manager for Sri Lanka and Maldives Shermal De Silva and HP Printing and Personal Systems Regional Manager Enterprise and Commercial Channel Waquas Masood.

Designed for businesses and governments, Khan demonstrated the unique innovative features of the latest HP tablet at the launch. “The ElitePad 900 is creatively designed to replace your notebook entirely,” said Khan and added that by launching the new tablet, HP has allowed the technology of tomorrow to be witnessed today.

The ultrathin, lightweight gadget designed for Windows 8 is powered by next generation Intel mobile processes and technology from HP labs. Balancing a beautiful design with enterprise-grade features, functionality, serviceability and support, the tablet comes with an optional ultra slim battery and HP ElitePad Smart Jacket where the latter accommodates added connectivity options. Offering enhanced security and manageability that is found in HP Elite PCs, it also has military grade durability against drops, vibrations, dust, temperature extremes and high altitude.

The ElitePad 900 delivers PC productivity for those on the go and Intel x86 compatibility for existing business application support. It is ergonomically shaped with a 10.1 inch diagonal display while it weighs only 0.68 kilos and has a thickness of 9.2mm.  The 16x10 aspect ratio maximises the display area for ideal viewing of traditional business application as well as video content. Elegantly crafted, the tablet uses premium materials such as CNC-machined aluminium and Corning Gorilla Glass 2, whereas it also flaunts a 1080p front-facing video camera and 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash. Extending the lifecycle and promoting a stable image for the ElitePad 900, the product would be offered with one year base warranty with the option for a three year warranty via the HP Care Pack services. Additional accessories that the tablet could be used with include the HP ElitePad Productivity Jacket, Expansion Jacket, Rugged Case, Docking Station and the HP Executive Tablet Pen.

Following the launch of this innovative hi-tech tablet is the HP Multi Tablet Charging Module which is expected to hit markets in March 2013.
