A senior management team from Epson India headed by Epson India President Toshiyuki Kasai together with Epson India Vice President, Sales and Marketing Samba Moorthy announcing the setting up of their wholly-owned subsidiary in Sri Lanka at a press conference at their corporate office in Colombo
Epson, a leader in digital imaging and printing solutions has announced the expansion of its operations in Sri Lanka with the set-up of a wholly owned subsidiary in the country. Present through its authorised distributors thus far, Epson expects to significantly increase its reach and presence in the country through this move. Epson says a direct presence will help them to scale up, expand and enhance its operations in Sri Lanka and in doing so redefine the overall customer experience. Through this direct presence, the company intends to make deeper inroads into key cities in all districts and plans to be in a position to better service customers in these markets with Epson’s entire portfolio of innovative products and technology.
Key to Epson’s strategy and continued growth will be its range of highly successful InkTank Printers. Epson’s InkTank printers have been a huge success in Sri Lanka (and the rest of the world) in the recent past thanks to the fact that they offer the most economical prints – as low as just 25 cents (Black) and 91 cents (Colour) per print. Commercial establishments, offices and homes have embraced the path breaking technology which allows consumers to print without worrying about costs or the inconvenience of replacing ink cartridges.
The growing segment of corporates who are keen that the products they use conform to norms such as low power consumption, recyclability and control of e-waste is also expected to increase and Epson’s InkTank technology which is eco-friendly is gaining over those that are not like Laser printers. Epson has captured a sizeable chunk of the office mono laser market too, for these reasons.
Epson is the world No. 1 Projector brand for 15 years in a row, and expects its 3LCD projectors to be a key growth driver in Sri Lanka. Epson projectors are powered by 3 LCD technology which offer 3 times brighter images than the competing technology. The projectors are renowned for their outstanding colour and white light output and stunning true to life images. Corporates, educational institutions and discerning home users who desire the best viewing experience have installed Epson projectors across the island.
Epson is also the world No. 1 when it comes to Billing Printers for retail application and for Dot Matrix Printers used in high volume printing applications. Epson says it is in a unique position to tap the rapid growth of retail in Sri Lanka with its highly reliable Billing printers. Epson already has a strong presence in the segment at the moment. With high volume printing requirements of insurance, banking, government etc. expected to continue, Epson’s says its dot matrix printers will continue to sell in significant numbers.
In addition to InkTank printers and Projectors Epson says it also sees a tremendous potential for its products in two other fast growing segments in Sri Lanka. With an eye on the expanding Textile and Garment industry Epson says it has introduced Dye sublimation Textile Printers and also Direct-to-Garment printers which will greatly help textile and garment manufacturers customise their offerings to the market.
Speaking on the occasion, Epson India Sub-Continent CEO and President Toshiyuki Kasai said, “We believe this is the right time for us to have a direct presence in Sri Lanka. For us to scale to the next level and to drive maximum value for our partners, and for consumers who buy our products, it is imperative for us to be as close as possible to them. This can only be possible with a first-hand understanding that will help us unite our industry domain expertise with our world class technology. As we continue our growth momentum, we will ensure that our partners and customers receive a consistent and quality brand and product experience, coupled with the highest level of service across all our lines of business. Of course we will continue to evolve and enrich the customer experience through our products and technology.”
