ESOFT starts recruiting students for Moratuwa Uni. BIT external degree

The ESOFT Institute of Higher Education, a pioneering institution in the information technology higher education sphere of Sri Lanka, has started recruiting students for the BIT External Degree of the University of Moratuwa, a university with famed in Sri Lanka and overseas for fashioning engineering and technical professional graduates.
ESOFT is the only institution in Sri Lanka conducting classes for the University of Moratuwa Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) Degree with the University’s approval.
ESOFT Managing Director Dr. Dayan Rajapaksa said: “There are any amounts of highly paid employment opportunities in Sri Lanka and overseas for graduates who have obtained an information technology degree from a world renowned university. The profession of information technology is accepted at present to be a lucrative profession with high social acceptance on par with medical/law and engineering professions. Accordingly, now our students have the opportunity of obtaining an information technology degree with high local and overseas acceptance and lucrative employment opportunities in a short time of three years with a minimal expenditure of Rs. 335,000. This can be considered as an excellent investment opportunity for parents with children who expect to enter the ICT field for their futures.”
Dr. Rajapaksa added: “ESOFT is a pioneering institution in the ICT education sphere of Sri Lanka that has been conducting classes for the BIT Degree Program of the University of Colombo, the Degree Programs of BUCKS New University of the United Kingdom and Edexcel HND Programs and obtained excellent results for their students. We are the only higher education institute in Sri Lanka conducting classes for the University of Moratuwa, BIT External Degree Program with their approval. ESOFT is only conducting classes for the BIT External Degree Program and giving sufficient theoretical knowledge to the students by a panel of qualified, experienced lecturers, practical training and providing guidance for projects. The University of Moratuwa is conducting examinations, evaluating answer papers and projects, issuing results and conferring degrees.”
At the time the University of Moratuwa introduced their BIT External Degree Program, it was conducted by the Centre for Open and Distance Learning (CODL) of that University. Students had to register themselves at the CODL and follow the Degree Program through directly routed education. But now only a limited number in the State service are registered for directly routed education.
All the other students must study for the BIT Degree through a recognised private sector educational establishment that is conducting classes under the full approval and supervision of the University of Moratuwa. ESOFT is the only educational institution conducting classes for the BIT Degree this way.
Students who have passed the GCE (Ordinary Level) Examination with a Credit Pass for Mathematics and GCE (Advanced Level) Examination in three subjects can register themselves for the BIT Degree Program of the University of Moratuwa. Students who have passed the Higher National Diploma in Information Technology (HNDIT) Program of the Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education (SLIATE) can also register themselves for the second year of the BIT External Degree Program.
ESOFT Institute of Higher Education is conducting classes for the University of Moratuwa BIT External Degree Program at their branches in Colombo, Kurunegala, Kandy, Galle, Negombo and Jaffna and recruiting new students for the same. The classes for the BIT External Degree Program will be started next September.
ESOFT has a panel of lecturers with long experience to prepare students for the University of Moratuwa BIT External Degree. ESOFT has sufficient modern laboratories for practical training, extensive library facilities, ultra modern class rooms and relevant printed matter.
