Etisalat Roaming customer, H.M.S Priyadarshani Silva from Balangoda, won SAR 100,000 on a visit to Saudi Arabia, as a part of their locally based Telco; Mobily’s Ramadan promotions. The Etisalat and Etihad owned Telco’s promotions gave ten prizes of 100,000 Saudi riyals away to roaming customers visiting the nation during the holy month of Ramadan. The lucky winner’s prize amounts to nearly Rs. 3.5 million by current exchange rates, and was deposited directly into their bank account.
Etisalat’s CEO, Dumindra Ratnayaka, said, “Congratulations to Ms. Priyadarshani, on her win. The holy month of Ramadan sees thousands of Muslim pilgrims visit Saudi Arabia annually as the believers make their way to the sacred city of Mecca, the geographic center of the Islamic faith. Etisalat, the UAE based telecommunications services provider, currently operates in 18 countries across Asia, the Middle East and Africa, and the roaming promotion by Mobily saw visitors from all of these countries become eligible participants. Named by Forbes Middle East as the most powerful company in the United Arab Emirates the international network that Etisalat boasts is one of its strongest assets.
