Government institutions linked to 1919 increased

The ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) says that information pertaining to 20 more Government institutions is scheduled to be provided to the public from next year through the Government Information Centre hotline (1919). ICTA said that by now information regarding about 2000 services of 300 Government institutions is provided through the Government Information Centre. ICTA further stated that even by now the relevant initial activities have commenced with regard to Government institutions about which information is scheduled to be provided through the Government Information Centre next year. From its launch in 2006 up to now, the Government Information Centre has received about eight million calls from the public. The Government Information Centre was launched under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa with the objective of providing the public with information about the services offered by Government institutions.
