Hemas Slingshot plays high stakes in Disrupt Asia 2017 Start-up Battle

Those present at last year’s Disrupt Asia saw an interesting and exciting sight. One after another, they saw entrepreneurs take the stage to pitch their start-ups with a fiery passion. This was because they weren’t simply pitching for the glory of winning a competition, but rather, they were pitching for funding from investors as well. This year the 2017 edition of Disrupt Asia is back and so is the start-up battle.  

But this time, rather than three small but exciting start-up battles, there will be one grand start-up battle at Disrupt Asia 2017 powered by Hemas Slingshot, a startup incubator and seed accelerator program run by Hemas. Its goal is to invest in and support the start-ups working to disrupt and change the world across various industries. 

The Disrupt Asia 2017 Start-up Battle is currently underway and applications are open. If you’re an entrepreneur interested in a chance to win glory and obtain some valuable prizes that’ll help your startup grow rapidly, then you should take part. Once applications close on 16 June the short listing process will begin. 

During the short listing process, the organisers will be looking for the most promising start-ups in any industry. These short listed start-ups will be the ones that have a great idea and have already built a working product from the idea that’s disrupting the industry they operate in. 

The short listed startups will then be invited to participate at the Semi Finals at Edulink International Campus on 30 June. After listening to the pitches, the panel of judges will select the best three start-ups. 

The Grand Finale of the Disrupt Asia 2017 Start-up Battle will take place on 12 July. Here the top three start ups will be pitching on the main stage not only to a panel of judges but also to a massive audience attending the conference itself.
