Hewlett-Packard (HP) added yet another innovative product to its portfolio by expanding its business tablet ecosystem with the latest HP EliteBook Revolve.

The HP EliteBook Revolve, a next-generation convertible tablet, is a touch enabled notebook that actually rotates allowing users to share their work while it can also be folded and be used as a tablet.

Having the ability to transform with the flick of the wrist to deliver a convertible computing solution to match any need, HP’s latest addition is certainly a product that ‘revolves to get more done’.

During the launch event of the HP EliteBook Revolve on Tuesday, HP Singapore Country Manager Portable Products Asia Emerging Countries (AEC) Faraz Noorani expressed that the new product is designed for those who require both an ultrathin notebook and a touch-enabled tablet.

“This new product offers incredible performance and visuals of a full power notebook alongside the flexibility of quickly switching to a tablet with a touch-enabled high-definition display,” Noorani said while adding that the EliteBook Revolve is driven by the latest third-generation Intel Core processors and is optimised for Windows 8.

With the opinion that employees now want computing devices that work in a flexible manner while being able to adapt to any situation, HP Sri Lanka Country Manager Printing and Personal Systems Shamal De Silva asserted that HP is committed to ensuring that its Elite portfolio of tablet solutions will provide consumer enterprises features their employees would require for maximum productivity.

“It offers a design that they will be proud to carry everywhere they go, all without sacrificing the enterprise services and protection that take the headache away from IT,” Silva elaborated.

Calling it a device that “bends over backwards to get more done,” the EliteBook Revolve represents the ninth-generation of HP’s line of convertible tablets.

Highlighting the external features of the product, Noorani shared that the HP EliteBook Revolve entails an 11.6 inch diagonal HD display that is packed into a 1.36-kilos design, which allows mobile freedom without sacrificing performance. “This product is 32% thinner and 22% lighter than the previous generation HP EliteBook 2760P, and it’s a lot less for a notebook,” Noorani emphasised.

The latest notebook also comes with a full-sized backlit keyboard in addition to the 720p HD4 camera, dual-microphone array, and SRS Pro Audio.

Having CyberLink YouCam software that enables easy face-to-face communication and the creation of HD web videos, the EliteBook Revolve is made with premium materials, including the scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 2.

With enterprise class docking capabilities for simple connectivity to a display, keyboard, mouse, additional ports or printer, it also has enterprise class components and solid-state drive options up to 256 GB with Intel Rapid Start Technology.

According to the HP officials present at the event, the device is expected to be ready in as fast as five milliseconds, depending on the configuration.
