Huawei and Singer launch Honor 3C

Huawei Technologies Lanka Ltd., the local office of the leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider Huawei, and Singer Sri Lanka PLC, the country’s number one brand and smartphone marketer, which is the exclusive national distributor for Huawei, officially announced the launch of a series of mid-range smartphones in Sri Lanka yesterday. Huawei’s Honor 3C, Ascend Y600, Ascend G730, Ascend G6 and Media Pad Youth were officially launched under the patronage of Huawei Technologies Lanka CEO Daniel Sun, Singer Sri Lanka PLC CEO Asoka Pieris, Huawei Technologies Lanka Deputy CEO Jun Zhang and Singer Sri Lanka PLC Director – Marketing and Commercial Mahesh Wijewardene. The launch coincided with popular R&B and hip hop artiste and music producer Iraj Weeraratne being appointed as Sri Lanka’s first Online Ambassador for Huawei Smartphone. Iraj was also the first to receive the Huawei Honor 3 officially in Sri Lanka. The Huawei Honor 3C is known to have received over 1.5 million reservations in 36 hours since its first launch announcement last quarter has received over eight million reservations during the pre-order state in Asia. In addition, Huawei’s Ascend Y600, Ascend G730, Ascend G6 and Media Pad Youth Android Tablet were also introduced, creating new dimensions in the mid-range smartphone market in the country. Sun said: “The introduction of the Honor 3 and the rest of the products would create a paradigm shift in the smartphone market in Sri Lanka. The Honor’s powerful features enable users to access favorite content and connect to friends faster than ever before, while still retaining an elegant, lightweight, and ultra portable design.Consumers will enjoy a 20% discount especially for the Honor 3C from two days of its official launch date, and all devices will be available through the country’s largest retail network Singer, including, Singer Mega, Singer Plus and SISIL World stores, comprising of over 400 retail outlets and Singer’s digital media channel that serves 1200 digital media outlets across the country.
