The company has helped leading global telecommunications operators such as Bharti, Deutsche Telekom, EE, SoftBank, STC, Telefónica, Telenor, TeliaSonera and Vodafone launch commercial LTE services in their respective countries and regions. “For consumers, network connection and call quality are among the most important user experiences,” stated Sun. “Huawei has therefore upgraded the adaptability and process of its products for 4G networks. We currently rank first in the industry as an LTE provider, delivering next-generation networks to the leading operators around the world. We possess the expertise and experience to deliver consumer products that optimise network capabilities, bringing a connected life within reach for people around the world through its devices. Locally we have deployed our enhanced network solutions with SLT, Mobitel, Dialog and Lanka Bell, offering a better technological experience for the local consumer base,” Sun added. Huawei was the first manufacturer to launch LTE Cat 4 devices, including Ascend D2, MediaPad10, Mobile WiFi E5776, USB Dongle E3276 and CPE E5172, B593 supporting download speeds of 150Mbps. In Japan, Huawei launched the Ascend P1-LTE smartphone, the first commercially available TD-LTE smartphone. The company owns multiple new technologies to support the widest pipe for faster networks. Carrier Aggregation (CA) technology allows faster speeds by providing more bandwidth. In June 2013, the company achieved 5-carrier aggregation at 1.25Gbps. Huawei has also developed dual, quad, and octo antenna designs on wireless devices for faster speeds while also providing a SingleRAN solution to integrate 2G/3G devices with 4G devices. Demonstrating the company’s industry leadership in R&D, standards, solutions and commercialisation, Huawei continues to win top industry awards on the global stage. The most recent of these wins came at the LTE World Summit 2013, where Huawei won ‘Best Innovative LTE Launch’ award in recognition of the company’s significant achievements in LTE commercialisation and innovation. In June 2013, Huawei was honoured ‘Best Wireless Network Infrastructure Innovation’ at the 2013 Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards for the LTE 1800MHz commercial network with UK EE, which utilised the SingleRAN GSM/LTE1800 Refarming solution. Other notable wins in 2013 include being named ‘Vendor of the Year’ at the Asia Communications Awards for three consecutive years and receiving recognition under the ‘Project of the Year’ category for its innovative LTE solution in Malaysia.
