Huawei maintains No. 2 position in smartphone market

Huawei Technologies Lanka Ltd., the local office of the leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider Huawei, today announced that the company maintained its number two position in the Lankan smartphone market. Huawei smartphones gained a 19.6% market shipment share in Sri Lanka Q4 this year with an increase of 4.1% market shipment share from Q3. Smartphone sales (shipments) touched 0.12 million units in Sri Lanka during 4Q 2013 and 0.45 million for CY 2013. This was according to the Sri Lanka Mobile Handsets Market Review, 4Q 2013, March 2014 release published by premier IT, telecom and semiconductor and electronics, infrastructure and life sciences market intelligence and advisory firm CyberMedia Research.
