Huawei No:3 in Global Smartphone market in Q3

Ascend P6 to bridge innovation and affordability in Sri Lanka Huawei Technologies Lanka Ltd, the local office of the leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider Huawei, today announced that the company elevated its position to the number 3 position in the global smartphone market. Huawei Smartphones gained a 5.1 percent share, as it grew shipments 67% annually to 12.7 million units in Q3 according to new reports.

Researchers attributed the rise to strong sales of its higher-end Ascend P6 and the mainstream G610, particularly in China. According to Yang Shu - President and Chief Executive Officer, South-East Asia Region, Huawei Technologies, Huawei experienced 30% year-over- year growth in the region, including Sri Lanka which is a significant achievement. “Huawei Technologies Lanka Ltd team encompasses highly skilled consultants both international and local understanding the different market and needs of Sri Lanka,” he added. The Huawei Ascend P6, available in black, white and pink with matching color cases, is only 6.18 mm in thickness and is the world’s slimmest smartphone yet. The smartphone features a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and a sleek metallic body.
