Ideamart connects app developers to 14 million Dialog and Hutch subscribers
Hutchinson Telecommu-nications Lanka joined Sri Lanka’s world award-winning mobile application development platform Ideamart last month, enabling the 5,000 Ideamart application developers to access Hutch’s Network Infrastructure through APIs (Application Programme Interfaces) and extend their applications and services to Hutch’s subscriber base.
Following the integration of Hutch Network Infrastructure, Ideamart will now provide Sri Lankan developers access to over 12.5 million mobile subscribers across Dialog Axiata and Hutch Mobile networks. The partnership will also enable Hutch subscribers to avail of hundreds of applications, development infrastructure and value added services available on the platform.
Ideamart, winner of the Global Mobile Award for ‘Best Technology Enabler’ at the 2015 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, is an application development platform architected by Dialog Axiata. Ideamart exposes Mobile Network Infrastructure via APIs through a simple to use web interface to Sri Lanka’s mobile application and content development community. Empowered by Ideamart, professional as well as amateur application developers, alongside small and medium entrepreneurs as well as tech startups, are able to expose their innovations to mobile consumers across Sri Lanka.
The integration of Hutch’s network infrastructure with the Ideamart Platform is set to greatly benefit the Ideamart developer community through the expansion of the market place for their innovations and services. The Ideamart eco-system now encompasses a base of 1.5 million Sri Lankan mobile consumers and 5,000 developers and content providers. Hutchinson Telecommunications Lanka Chief Executive Officer Thirukumar Nadarasa says: “As a leading provider of mobile telecommunication services in Sri Lanka, Hutch is committed to constantly offer its customers enhanced services, and this partnership with Ideamart and Dialog will empower our subscribers with direct access to Ideamart’s technology expertise. Hutch is proud to be part of this initiative, which will also support the developer community, raising Sri Lanka’s profile in the ICT world. Developers can now use Hutch’s integrated features via Ideamart to develop apps that can transform business or even enhance lives, and we expect this partnership with Ideamart to generate multiple advantages to boost the developer and app eco system, while directly benefitting out customers.”
Dialog Axiata Group Chief Executive Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya commenting on the partnership added, “In architecting Ideamart, Dialog was driven by the vision of creating a world-class mobile application market place which would bring together our nation’s application development and entrepreneurial talent with Mobile consumers from across all mobile networks.
The Ideamart platform simplifies the exploitation of advanced mobile network capabilities and eliminates the technology access barriers which traditionally inhibit open development eco-systems. We are delighted to welcome Hutch as a Mobile Network partner of Ideamart. Our shared vision, to grow Sri Lanka’s application market place to the benefit of consumers and developers alike, will no doubt signal enhanced impetus for Ideamart and Sri Lankan innovation overall.” Going forward Ideamart will continue to expose a host of new Mobile Network APIs, providing a fertile ground for increasingly advanced levels of application and service functionality.
