Hutchison Telecommunications Lanka (Hutch) recently launched ‘Unlimited India Data Roaming,’ another groundbreaking package offering numerous advantages to Sri Lankan visitors to India. A first-of-its-kind in Sri Lanka, this innovative package is primarily aimed at overcoming the fear travellers have of incurring exorbitant data roaming charges when they travel overseas. India is a popular destination to Sri Lankans who travel by the thousands annually for pilgrimages, holidays and business travel. Hutch has been the first to recognise the need for a solution specifically geared to offering these travellers an economical way to stay connected via their smartphones and laptops The basic data roaming packages start from just Rs. 297 flat for three days. A mere Rs. 100 upgrade (to a Rs. 397 package) will allow subscribers to also enjoy unlimited SMS and unlimited local calling within India. Additional data packages include Rs. 497 for seven days, Rs. 797 for 15 days and Rs. 1297 for 30 days. For this initiative, Hutch has partnered with Reliance Mobile, one of India’s largest mobile networks. Once a customer arrives in India they should select Reliance as their preferred network to access the benefits of Hutch’s India Roaming package. “We have developed an excellent partnership with Reliance Mobile and are confident that the best possible roaming service will be extended to Sri Lankan visitors travelling in India with our India Roaming package,” explained Hutchison Telecom Lanka CEO Thirukumar Nadarasa. “Our primary objective was to take away the fear of massive and uncontrolled data roaming charges.  Being connected affords customers the advantage of better budgeting with the full freedom to access the internet. Whether travelling on business or holiday, or partaking in a pilgrimage, Hutch’s India Roaming package helps subscribers keep connected, stress free.”
